Harps
Known as the clarseach in Scotland & Ireland, they were introduced
to Europe by Celtic monks in medieval times. The standing harp is the Heather
with all levers.
All harps are nylon strung and have decorated
rosewood frames and mahogany plywood soundboards. There is a one year warranty
on the frame and soundboard. All of the harps, except the small Pixie,
have sharping levers on all the strings. This means that you can play in
any key without retuning and is easier to play along with other instruments.
PIXIE 31," 19 strings, 2.5 octaves, Range: from "F"
below middle "C" to c" $175.00
This is a true lap harp, and does not reach the floor.
This harp has sharping levers on the "C," "F," and "G" strings for playing
in different keys (especially the most popular keys for Celtic music).
PIXIE-L, with levers on all strings, it has the same
range as the Pixie but with a larger soundbox so it stands by itself, $225.00
HEATHER-L, 36," 22 strings, 3 octaves, Range: from
C" to c", with levers on all 22 strings, $280.00
The Heather harps are our most popular and most
recommended beginner's instrument.
MINSTREL-L, 38" 29 strings, 4 octaves Range: from C
to C'", levers on all 29 strings, $450.00
MEGHAN-L, levers on all 36 strings, same range and
size as Meghan $1100.00

KEYBOARD DULCIMER
This is an instrument I love because it is so easy to
play and sounds really neat. It is known as the Indian banjo, because it
comes from India, but I don't know how the Indians got the banjo part,
since it doesn't look at all like a banjo. They use it for all sorts of
music, from traditional, to a type they call "cinema music," which is a
mix of musical styles.
It uses a piano-type keyboard for the notes and it is
strummed like a mountain dulcimer, with melody and sympathetic strings.
Not really a harp but it does have strings and is fun to play! $60 ($7.50
